Requirement:

Our client, a lending company, was facing a challenge of having to make credit decisions for a wide variety of companies applying for credit, using a wide variety of data sources. The credit officers were responsible for making credit decisions, but their decision-making process was based on their own experience and best judgment, and there was a lack of a systematized approach.

Solution:

Our solution was to design a machine learning-based credit scoring system that utilized all available data on the applicants. This system was integrated into the client’s existing system and was made available for the credit officers to use. This allowed the credit officers to compare their selection criteria with the algorithm’s results, giving them more confidence in the decisions they were making. Additionally, we designed experiments to help identify the optimal amount of credit to lend, which helped the client to minimize their risk and increase the chances of repayment.



Designing a ML-based fraud detection system for a banking institution in Argentina

Requirement:

Our client, a top 20 banking institution in Argentina in terms of total assets, was facing a challenge of fraudulent transactions that were being carried out by individuals who had gained unauthorized access to customer accounts, and were not being detected by their existing security systems.

The client needed a solution that could quickly and accurately identify suspicious transactions and prevent them from being executed in real-time.

Solution:

Our solution was to design and test a machine learning-based fraud detection system that could quickly and accurately identify suspicious transactions. The system was trained using historical data on the normal pattern of activities for each client, and was able to flag transactions that deviated from the expected pattern as suspicious
